If you’re looking to increase your energy and overall health then our Nootropics Stack Guide will help to teach you how to accomplish this by using a method known as “Nootropics stacking“.
There are many sources online that demonstrate how to stack Nootropics but our comprehensive and in-depth guide will show you how to properly implement “Nootropics Stacking” in to your health-plan so you can increase your focus, learning capabilities, motivation and energy levels.
Essentially, Nootropic stacking is the technique of combining either two or more supplements that contain properties that promote brain-health while increasing the body’s energy levels. The idea behind this method is that the combination of the supplements used in the “Nootropics Stack” is that the combined benefits received from the stack would normally not be received if the combined supplements were taken individually (or alone).
Over the years, medical research and testing has been conducted to show that certain supplements (when combined) provide more powerful and beneficial effects compared to when taken alone which is responsible for the increased popularity among individuals that are starting to use “Nootropic Stacks”.
Choosing a Pre-Formulated “Nootropic Stack” Solution
While some individuals like to create their own Nootropics stack using their own supplements, many people decide to take the easier route and purchase an off-the-shelf solution where the Nootropic stack pills are already pre-formulated with combined supplements alleviating you of the task of combining the supplements yourself.
While there are some distinct benefits of purchasing a pre-formulated solution (such as not having to combine the supplements yourself in addition to receiving some kind of guarantee from the manufacturer), one of the largest downsides is that you’re unable to conduct tests on your intake of certain supplement dosages and combinations.
This is an important aspect to consider as if you don’t create your own then you’ll only be intaking the supplements and supplement dosages that the manufacturer included within the Nootropics stack meaning you won’t be able to tweak the supplements to your specific needs.
With that said, a pre-formulated solution isn’t at all being “not recommended”, it’s a convenient way for individuals to get the supplements they need without creating the stack themselves although we do recommend that you only purchase a Nootropics stack from an established and reputable supplier/manufacturer (check reviews online and see what others are saying about the product).
How to Stack Nootropics
Now that you have a good understanding as to what “Nootropics Stacks” are and how they’re beneficial for your health (memory and energy levels to be specific), it’s now time to delve in to how to Stack Nootropics along with “supplement combinations” that we suggest you use in your stacks.
Combining L-Theanine and Caffeine in your Nootropic Stack
If you’re looking for a boost in both your energy and focus then a combination of “L-Theanine and Caffeine” is the perfect and most effective stack to achieve both of these affects. This particular stack is rather easy to make (even for Nootropic Stack newcomers) as these are both commonly available supplements at any vitamin or health shop.
To create this stack it’ll require a “2 to 1 ratio” requiring 1-part caffeine and 2-parts of L-Theanine.
What we really like about this particular stack is that the L-Theanine reduces/eliminates the negative side effects of caffeine (such as insomnia, appetite loss or even anxiety) while allowing you to receive only the beneficial effects of the caffeine (energy boost!).
The purpose of the L-Theanine supplement is to not only alleviate you of the common side effects of the caffeine but to also assist in the reduction of both anxiety and stress.
Using this stack couldn’t be easier! Most users simply add 200 milligrams of L-Theanine to their cup of coffee perhaps making this Nootropics stack the easiest to prepare!
One thing to keep in mind is that you’re not going to know the exact amount of caffeine in the coffee you’re consuming so if you’re not a regular consumer of coffee then we suggest that you combine L-Theanine with a caffeine pill so you know the exact amount (in milligrams) of caffeine you’re intaking with the L-Theanine.
Caffeine pills are easily accessible and in-fact can be purchased not only at health/vitamin shops but even at your location gas station(s). While being conveniently available, they’re also pretty inexpensive so you shouldn’t expect caffeine pills (for a 2-4 pack) to set you back any more than just a few dollars.
A majority of the caffeine pills being sold (regardless of “where” they’re being sold) will be 200 milligrams. With that said, if you purchase 200 milligram caffeine pills you’ll want to break the pill evenly in to two parts as you’ll want to add 100 milligrams of caffeine (to start) and 200 milligrams of L-Theanine (you can add to decaffeinated tea/coffee).
Use the “Racetam and Choline” Nootropics Stack to Improve your Memory and Learning Capabilities
The next common yet very beneficial stack involves the use of both “Racetam” and “Choline” which are two ingredients that when combined have proven to provide incredible boosts to cognitive abilities which include an improvement of memory (and helps to reduce memory-loss during aging) while helping to increase focus (great for students, college attendees or anyone looking to increase their cognitive health).
Racetam enters the body’s blood stream rather quickly so effects are quickly noticeable once consumed. Racetam is the main player in this Nootropics stack as it increases the amount of acetylcholine (neurotransmitter) usage that your brain uses which is what helps you to increase both your memory and brain functions.
The Choline in this stack provides even further cognitive benefits as once consumed the body will convert the supplement in to acetylcholine. In this stack the Choline provides a dual purpose, one of which being promoting brain/cognitive health while also helping to reduce the negative/unwanted side effects of the Racetam (which could include headaches) so you won’t need to concern yourself with whether or not you’ll have and symptoms.
Overall, implementing Nootropics Stacks in to your health and/or diet plan is an easy and effective way to provide you with even more benefits that traditional methods wouldn’t otherwise provide. Always be sure to measure your intake/dosages of vitamins and supplements and if you can, keep track of how the stack(s) you consume effect you so you can make changes or adjustments on future Nootropics Stacks that you make.
Evaluating your personal health needs when creating a Nootropics Stack
The health benefits of creating your own, personalized Nootropics Stack is undeniably one of the best routes to go (compared to a preformulated solution) if you have an in-depth understanding of your personal health and diet goals. Taking aspects into consideration such as your weight and your neurological health will assist you in creating stacks that will truly provide beneficial results to your overall health and energy levels.
If you’re unsure of what vitamins or nutritional ingredients your body lacks then a preformulated solution may be the best route as they often times contain a multitude of unique minerals/ingredients which will allow you to intake vitamins you actually need.
Weight is actually an important factor to consider as the heavier your weight the larger the dose you’ll need to add to your Nootropics stack.
I remember a while ago my brother (who is 242 pounds) really wanted to improve his memory and concentration for his studies and he came to me for advice so I immediately suggested a Nootropics Stack consisting of choline, phenylpiracetam and piracetam.
The last ingredient (piracetam) has a recommended daily intake of 1,600 mg to 6,400 mg but because of his weight he started off from the start by adding the maximum amount of 6,400 mg per day to his Nootropics Stack.
Understanding Nootropics Stack Ingredients
So, are you ready to start making Nootropics Stacks that will truly help to provide cognitive enhancements that can also help to improve energy levels while boosting memory retention? There’s an array of unique ingredients that you can include within your stacks and if you’re wondering how to Stack Nootropics then this ingredient list will help you to better understand the beneficial properties of different ingredients that you can add.
Understanding ingredient properties and their uses is paramount to creating a stack that your body can truly take advantage of so we’ll be covering some of the most comment Nootropics Stacks ingredient inclusions in this section of our guide.
Here in this section, we’re going to be covering some common Nootropics Stack ingredients along with some stack guides that will help you get started.
Huperzine-A is a common ingredient within Nootropics Stacks and is an element derived from Huperzia serrata which is a form/species of plant. It contains potent properties which have been found to treat patients for neurological setbacks. This is most commonly used by elderly Nootropics Stacks consumers as this property is known to help with the Alzheimer’s disease and helps to maintain memory retention. While it can be purchased in powder form, preformulated solutions are available one of which being the GNC Herbal Plus Huperzine A.
The Bacopa Monnieri mineral is a derivative from the Brahmi plant and usage of this ingredient originally stems from medical research conducted in India. For years, individuals have been using Bacopa Monnieri for the treatment of back pain, epilepsy, joint pain (arthritis) and cognitive illnesses. It can also be included in your Nootropics Stack for the treatment of anxiety, ADHD and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
Typically, for most individuals, the typical dose of Bacopa Monnieri is 300 milligrams although the prerequisite to this is that the ingredient within the extract (bacoside) should account for a minimum of 55% of the weight of the extract.
Bacopa Monnieri is available in both a powder form along with preformulated solutions and can easily be added to your Nootropics Stack for noticeable health benefits.
Lion’s Mane Mushroom
Lion’s Mane Mushroom is personally one of my most favorite supplements to include in my stacks as it contains properties that studies have shown will “permanently” improve memory retention in addition to protecting the brain while helping you to maintain brain health. Originally stemming from China, the Lion’s Mane mushroom was used for hundreds of years and in recent years has begun to grow in popularity among western, at-home medicine practice.
One of the most beneficial properties is one that helps the body to produce the Nerve Growth Factorwhich reportedly helps individuals to increase their life span (an active user of Lion’s Mane Mushroom named Rita Levi-Montalcini lived until the age of 103).
How to Create a Lion’s Mane Nootropics Stack
Within an hour of me making and drinking a Lion’s Mane stack I always feel energized, awake, focused and “alert” so I often times find myself making these early in the morning a couple of hours before I need to be to work. A Lion’s Mane Stack is fairly simple to make and requires you to combine a few ingredients which include oxiracetam, aniracetam, pramiracetam and piracetam.
One thing worth noting with this stack (or any other stack that contains Racetams) is that since the property Racetam is contained within this stack you’re going to want to add an additional supplement such as Alpha GPC as this property will help to transform the properties within the stack to acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter in the brain that’s responsible for helping to prevent memory loss while also helping you to feel alert and energetic and without this added supplement you may not receive this additional cognitive benefit.
To make the Lion’s Mane Nootropics Stack (suggested that you intake twice per day), you’ll need to include the following ingredients:
· 1-gram of Fish Oil
· 750 grams of Lion’s Mane Mushroom
· 300 milligrams of Alpha GPC
· 750 milligrams of Aniracetam
Keep in mind that if you want to replace Aniracetam with another supplement, it can be replaced with another Racetam supplement substitute such as piracetam, oxiracetam or pramiracetam. Of course, if substituted, the dosage/milligram amount will need to be the same amount as the original supplement.
This stack can provide great results in the short-term although for long-term benefits we have another Nootropics Stack recipe containing the Lion’s Maine Mushroom ingredient that will help to increase the longevity of the positive effects of this supplement.
Alternative Lion’s Mane Mushroom Nootropics Stack
Unlike the first stack that we covered above, this stack is suggested to be taken once per day (not twice) and will provide the same cognitive benefits but for a longer period of time.
For this stack, you will need:
· 2,500 milligrams of Lion’s Mane Mushroom
· 500 milligrams of L-Tyrosine
· 1-gram of ALCAR
· 300 milligrams of Uridine
· 5 milligrams of Pregnenolone
· 2 grams of Fish Oil
· 10 ml of Ashitaba
· 15 milligrams of Zinc
Using Ginseng in your Nootropics Stack to Improve Mental Health & Energy while reducing Anxiety
While most of the time being consumed in hot tea, Ginseng can quite easily be added to your Nootropics Stack and is a powerful supplement that provides many benefits.
Individuals who have used Ginseng in their Nootropics Stacks reported effects that include:
· Better memory performance and retention which is great for younger health advocates, students and elderly individuals
· An improved mood and overall better attitude which is important to leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
· A huge reduction in anxiety which is one of the most important benefits of Ginseng as you may be able to use this in place of traditional anxiety medications (but of course this depends on the individual). A couple of years ago, I used Ginseng actively in my stacks and within just a couple of months’ time I was able to exclude medication that I was taking for over a year (anxiety medication) as the Ginseng helped to calm my nerves and greatly reduced my anxiety levels.
To get started using Ginseng in your stacks, simply pick-up some Ginseng powder from one of the many online suppliers and then calculate how many milligrams per day you want to add to your stack(s).
While there’s no specific ratio that tells you how many milligrams to take per day based on your weight, the typical, daily recommended intake is 200-400 milligrams. A person who has severe anxiety/depression and suffers from Alzheimer’s disease may want to take 400 milligrams per day while a person with mild, non-severe health conditions (general preventive care) may take 200-300 milligrams per day.
Simply evaluate your health profile/feelings and concerns to determine how many milligrams per day will work best for you.
Personal Nootropics Stack Recommendation
I’ve covered a lot of information in this guide and I’d now like to share with you my personal, favorite, day-to-day stack that I make in the morning daily which for me provides an incredible boost in energy and alertness which usually lasts for nearly the entire day.
If you want high-energy levels, cognitive alertness and the drive/motivation to accomplish various tasks throughout the day then definitely consider then Nootropics Stack!
So, let’s get to the ingredients that you’ll need:
· 100 milligrams of Caffeine
· 300 milligrams of NALT
· 250 milligrams of Alpha GPC
· 200 milligrams of L-Theanine
If you make this stack in the morning time, be sure that you add 500 milligrams of Sulbutiamine and 750 milligrams of Aniracetam and if you make it in the afternoon/evening time you can add 20 milligrams of Noopept (a thousand times more potent than piracetam).
The primary, most influential and active supplements in this particular stack is the Noopept and Aniracetam which alone are effective but when they’re combined in conjunction with the other supplements in this stack they create an incredible effect which consists of a burst of energy and mental alertness (more than I’ve ever received from a cup of coffee or an energy drink!).
Another thing that this stack helped me with was my habitual habit of procrastination. Not only myself but many others as well have reported that combining these supplements in to a stack has greatly improved their focus and dedication to finishing what they start so if you’re looking for a stack that will help you with focus then this will definitely do the job.
With that said, this is going to lead me to my final stack which again is used for “focus”. Since many people use stacks for the “focus related” benefits, I felt that it was necessary for me touch base on the NALT Nootropics Stack which is known for properties that are highly effective towards improving focus (so effective it’s used for and by patients who suffer from ADHD).
NALT Nootropics Stack
NALT (N-Acetyl and L-Tyrosine) Nootropics Stacks are highly effective for treating or tempering the conditions of ADHD and can quickly and effectively help its users to regain control of their focus and ability to accomplish tasks that normally wouldn’t be so easy.
While the main purpose of the stack is to help you increase your focus, the main reason for this stack is to allow ADHD users to have some form of an alternative medicine to traditional medications (such as Adderall for example) while sparing the individual of any of the negative side effects attached to amphetamine.
You can use this stack by purchasing it in powder form or by picking-up a preformulated solution.
Of course, understanding what’s happening to your body will help you to understand the effects and there are two primary changes that this stack causes to achieve the effects. When added to your stack and consumed, the N-acetyl and L-tyrosine releases dopamine chemicals in the brain while also affecting the metabolic system.
There have been many studies conducted over the years and some have shown that the Tyrosine increases not only your ability to concentrate but adrenaline levels as well with the added benefit of it helping to reduce stress.
With stress lessened and concentration levels increased it provides the perfect effect for those suffering from ADHD or concentration/focus related hurtles.
